Theatre Etiquette

Dancap Productions is pleased to bring you a Rewarding Broadway Experience™.

We strive to take your theatre experience from the Ordinary to the Extraordinary, and want you to help out by remembering to have common courtesy for those around you. Below are the best practices to ensure everyone can fully enjoy the show.

Before the Theatre

Check your tickets.  At the time of purchase be sure to confirm the date and time on your tickets are the ones you requested. Please note that all ticket sales are final and exchanges are only permitted for ticket purchases for Dancap members with advance notice (a service charge may apply).

Before Arriving to the Theatre

What should I wear? Dancap Productions has no official “dress code” for attending our shows. Please note the theatre is air conditioned, and we recommend bringing a sweater or a wrap just in case you feel chilly. Please remember that many people are highly allergic to perfume or cologne.

Babes in arms. The theatre does not allow babes in arms into the auditorium. Please bring your children to age-appropriate productions. Everyone entering the theatre must have a ticket.

At the Theatre

Turn off all electronic devices. This includes all mobile phones, BlackBerrys, pagers, beepers, alarms, or anything that can disturb the production, actors and your fellow audience members during the performance.

Show your Appreciation.  This is a live performance before a live audience. Please do not talk, whisper, sing or hum during the performance unless you are asked to do so.

Food. Snacks may be purchased and eaten in the lobbies during intermission. Only bottled water is allowed in the auditorium. Please be cognizant of the noise made by unwrapping candy and cough drops during the performance in order to avoid disrupting those in attendance around you.

Pictures. Photography of any kind is prohibited during a performance. Audiotape and videotape recordings are forbidden under copyright law. If anyone is found photographing or taping the performance, their photos or recordings will be deleted and they will be asked to leave the theatre without a ticket refund.

Entering and exiting.  Please avoid entering or exiting the theatre during a performance, before or after intermission, unless it is an emergency.

Be on time. It is best to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the performance so you can have time to park your car, find your seats and read your program before the show begins. The time posted on your ticket is the time the performance begins. Entering the theatre after the performance has begun can disturb both the actors performing and your fellow audience members. It is the policy of Dancap Productions that latecomers to the theatre will be seated on one occasion only within the first five to ten minutes of the performance. Anyone arriving after the above-mentioned occasion will be seated in the back of the theatre until they can be moved to their seats at intermission. However, during a sold out performance, latecomers will only be seated at intermission.

Smoking and alcohol.  There is no smoking in the building. Anyone bringing alcohol or banned substances will be asked to leave the theatre and your tickets will not be refunded.

Complaints. If there is a situation that requires attention during the show, please speak to an usher. If you require further assistance, please speak to the House Manager. Dancap Productions works very closely with theatre staff to make sure your Dancap Experience is an Extraordinary one.
